LANDMARKS CONCERTS

The CALIFORNIA REDWOOD CHORALE will be performing a unique concert series called, “CALIFORNIA REDWOOD CHORALE sings in LANDMARKS…with love”. Director Robert Hazelrigg will guide the singers through a program of music about love…love of each other, love of home, and love of music. Accompanied by pianist, John Hazelrigg, you will hear beautiful music by John Rutter, David Dickau, James Muholland, and even Freddy Mercury!

Our three concerts will be performed in landmark buildings well over 100 years old.  The venues will include the Petaluma Historical Museum, the gleaming white DeTurk Round Barn and the charming Church Built of One Tree. This is the perfect opportunity for you to see the inside of these landmark

buildings. The LANDMARK buildings are owned by the City of Petaluma and the City of Santa Rosa.

The Petaluma concert will be at the Petaluma Historical Museum on Friday evening, May 31 at 8pm. The concerts in Santa Rosa will be on  Sunday afternoons. June 2 at 3pm will be at The Church of One Tree and June 16 at 3pm will be at the DeTurk Round Barn, both in the west Santa Rosa area. The California Redwood Chorale will be performing 4 Fall concerts in 2012. Guests artists are MICHAEL BOLIVAR, saxophone and BONNIE BROOKS, vocalist, who will thrill you with their artistry. This sensational program will delight you with all American music from classical to contemporary, from jazz to gospel, and from American film and stage. Robert Hazelrigg, our director and John Hazelrigg, our accompanist, will put their mighty talents together at the keyboard in this program. We look forward to seeing you there!

Our trip to Italy in April 2012, was exciting and fun. We sang in Verona for the choral competition and also gave concerts there. Our hotel was at the edge of beautiful Lake Garda. During the second week of our trip, we traveled to Florence and gave a big concert that was sung with perfection.

HERE WE COME VERONA, ITALY!

CRC  flies to Italy April 9, 2012 to compete in the Verona International Choral Festival. This will be our first competition. We will perform 4 American pieces in the competition: “Smile”, “That Lonesome Road” “Prayer of the Children” and “Didn’t My Lord Deliver Daniel”.  All other concerts during our stay in Verona and Florence will be a mix of American and Italian repertoire. On Feb. 25 and Feb. 26, 2012, the CALIFORNIA REDWOOD CHORALE is performing the World Premiere of “Unfinished Life” by Randall Keith Horton: a tribute to the late Kate Wolf….accompanied by DON COFFIN. Many of her famous songs will be performed including “Across the Great Divide”, “Give Yourself to Love” “The Red Tail Hawk” and more. BONNIE BROOKS will be featured along with MICHAEL BOLIVAR and the young sensation, JACOB BROWN. Many other excellent performers are singing Kate’s songs as well as additional American music. KATE WOLF CONCERT

2011- Oct. 21 at the Glaser Center in Santa Rosa at 8pm and Oct. 23 at Jacuzzi Winery in Sonoma at 3pm. Click on “The Prayer of the Children”. Grammy Award winner, Kurt Bestor, created this arrangement of his beautiful song just for CRC.
